Good to know
- Figures are for PRIVATE registration (individual). Company-registered cars pay roughly double on the upper bands — ask us if you need company rates.
- Sabah & Sarawak pay lower rates across every band; Langkawi, Pangkor and Labuan pay about half the Peninsular rate for most cars.
- EVs: the 2026 zero-emission schedule charges on motor POWER (kW) — not battery capacity (kWh), not engine cc. Rates are uniform nationwide, and hybrids still pay by engine cc.
- The kW-band figures follow the motoring-media tables published when the exemption ended on 31 Dec 2025 (the policy itself is official, the band table is not in a public JPJ document). Confirm the final amount at MyJPJ or a JPJ counter.
