Comparisons use wall-to-wheel consumption for the EV and pump-to-wheel for petrol. DC charging tapers above ~80% state of charge, so real 80–100% sessions run longer than the linear estimate; AC charging loses about 10% in the onboard charger, DC about 5%.
Good to know
- Default tariffs are editable: home charging ≈ RM0.28/kWh on TNB residential rates; public AC ≈ RM0.60–0.90/kWh; public DC ≈ RM1.10–1.60/kWh depending on network (JomCharge, ChargEV, Gentari, Shell Recharge, TNB Electron).
- AC charging loses about 10% in the car's onboard charger; DC about 5%. It is already factored into the numbers.
- DC fast charging tapers above ~80% state of charge — sessions from 20% to 80% are the quick ones; 80–100% takes disproportionately longer.
- The petrol comparison uses the live RON95 price from the Fuel Price Tracker on this site, and your own L/100km figure — set your real-world consumption for an honest number.
